Welcome to all

I feel like this is one of those “baby’s first” moments. I’ll be honest, I have no idea how to blog. I love to write and had been playing with the idea of writing a book, but let’s be real – I just don’t have the time or brain power to devote to that. So, I thought a blog might be a better option, kind of a “don’t eat the whole elephant in one bite” idea. I’m really hoping this will be something that I can grow into, improving as I go.

In case you haven’t read my About Me Section yet, I’m Janna Lyn. I’ve been traveling domestically and internationally for most of my life, and I’ve been a travel agent with Castles and Dreams Travel since March 2017. The travel agent gig is a side hustle, but I hope to turn it into my “big girl/bill paying job” one day.

The primary focus of this blog will be travel related topics, covering all kinds of things. Not sure which shoes to wear for a day at Disney World? I’ll cover that… one day… it’s on the list, I promise. Packing cubes versus vacuum bags? My preference will be explained at some point. How to determine the best room location on a cruise ship? Those of you with motion sickness issues, or who prefer to sleep late, will thank me for this one.

I plan to fill you in on my adventures as well, sharing opinions and stories as I go. And if you are one of my travel clients and something funny, stressful, or otherwise noteworthy happens on your trip, I’ll probably write about that too. (Sara Hagan, you will forever be my reason why people need travel insurance.) Oh, and if there is a topic you’d like to see a post written about, or a question you’d like answered, please reach out and let me know!

And now for the question that everyone wants answered but nobody wants to ask… why should you care about what I have to say? I am by no means an expert, but I know a thing or two about a thing or two. I want to be your go-to travel girl! Part of my job as a travel agent is research – destinations, resorts, restaurants, tours, etc. I try my best to only send clients to places I would go/stay at myself, unless they specifically ask for something off the wall (side note – I have clients that love this one “clothing optional” resort in Cancun. No judgment towards them, but that is one place I’m not researching.)

My extensive research will be coupled with a dose of personal experiences when applicable, and a decent sized helping of my opinion. I will never intentionally lead you astray, but I also know (as I’m sure you do) that you won’t love all the same things that I do. At the end of the day, you can trust the research is sound, the experience feedback is honest, and then take a gamble with the opinion.

If you are still reading, thanks for sticking with me this far. Please feel free to subscribe to my email list, or follow me on social media. I’ll be sending out email notifications when a destination offers a deal too good to miss, or if some major news event happens in the travel industry. And if you get spam, it won’t be my fault. Nobody but me and Jesus will have access to your email address. My social media posts and blogs will happen more frequently than the emails. Lastly, if you think it’s time you took that well deserved, long overdue vacation, please reach out to schedule your complimentary vacation planning consultation.

I haven’t been everywhere yet, but it’s on my list… Happy Travels!

To all who come to this happy place, Welcome

Walt Disney
